Our school curriculum has been developed, by the subject leaders, with a clear intent for each subject and with our vision at the heart of all we do. We have also identified certain drivers that we feel are particularly important for our children at Scotforth St Pauls to help further develop their skills and knowledge beyond the National Curriculum expectations. Each subject leader has spent time developing the curriculum in line with their intent, the school vision and the drivers, and this can be seen in the following overviews.
Subject Intent, Vision and Drivers
As Subject Leaders, we have developed our main strands running through each topic. These are knowledge based strands which the children build on year by year and make links through the individual subject and across other subjects too. These non-negotiables form the basis of our assessment. The whole National Curriculum is taught to the children, but these are our main focuses to ensure progression of knowledge.
Curriculum Strands
The following documents outline the National Curriculum content to be taught in each year group for each of the subjects listed.
