We have had an amazing day tasting different foods from different countries. We listened to music from different countries and dressed up too.

Africa in Y1
We have enjoyed travelling to Africa this afternoon. We designed African masks and Peter came in to talk about African wildlife. We had an amazing time!

Y1 Crown Green Bowling
We had a great morning looking at the English game of Crown Green Bowling. We definitely improved our technique and became more confident with the rolling skill.

Year 1 Multicultural Week
We have made our passports and boarded our flight. First stop … Hong Kong. Mrs Law told us all about life in Hong Kong and we learnt some Cantonese!
Next destination … Honduras. We looked at lots of photos, tasted Plantain crisps (fried bananas) , made our own fruit salad and looked at stories…

Pedal and Scoot Year 1

Year 1 Aquarium and Haverthwaite Railway Trip
We had a wonderful time on our school trip today. We saw some amazing animals and imagined what it would be like to travel on a steam train in the past.

Dinosaur eggs have appeared in our classroom.
We could not believe it. We arrived to school and there was huge footprints and a dinosaur egg in our classroom.

Making Bread y1
We read “The Little Red Hen” and spoke about how she made the bread and the skills needed to do it. We thought we would try it for ourselves.
We looked at the skills of mixing, kneading and rolling. Our bread tasted so delicious and smelt amazing
