We would like to welcome your son or daughter into Year 5. We hope that they will enjoy the year, work hard to develop their knowledge and skills, and grow as individuals. The highlights of Year 5 include being a buddy to one of our Reception children, training as a Play Leader, designing and making working musical instruments, discovering what happens in the digestive system, baking cheese scones and bread and swimming at Lancaster University.

Meeting our buddies
Today, we spent time playing with Reception class. We had lots of toys, books and games and had the chance to talk to all the children. We were then paired up with our buddies and are looking forward to having lots of fun getting to know them this year.
Cheerleading in Year 5
Mrs Winder our resident Cheerleader talked to us today about the history of Cheerleading. She showed us some of the medals her and her team had won and we watched some experts show us how it was done. Mrs Winder then took us outside and taught us some of the basic moves.
African Wildlife
Today Peter Nutsford came to talk to us about Endangered Animals of East Africa. He is a wildlife photographer and shared his photos, videos and experiences of mountain gorillas, rhinos and warthogs. Peter was amazing and the children enjoyed the presentation. At the end of the session Peter…
