At Scotforth we love to read so we were all delighted to celebrate World Book Day today. The teachers and children braved the cold weather to come dressed as many different book characters. Look through our pictures to see who you can recognise. We also enjoyed a variety of activities including reading with buddies, design a book spine and ring-a-read (when we all stopped whatever we were doing and read our books when Miss Huddleston rang her bell!) We were visited by local author Frank English who led our assembly and spoke to many classes about his life as a writer. The day ended with an exciting whole school quiz with a music round, emoji book titles, guess the character and picture clues. All Key Stage 2 children have received a reading challenge sheet and a recommended book list. Remember, books are for life - not just World Book Day!
