Hot, hot, hot!!!
When it’s hot, we put on our hats and suncream and take our learning outside. Today we have been making boats to play with in the water. We worked in the shade.
Our new kitchen
Today we used the new children’s kitchen for the first time. We made ginger biscuits after listening to the story of “The gingerbread man.”
What will we do?
We had a big problem today! We only had blue, red and yellow paint but we wanted to paint plums, carrots and apples. We mixed colours together and were surprised at the new colours we made.
Growing
In nursery this half term we are learning about growing. We will talk about plants as well as how animals and birds change as they grow.
Exploring
Scot4all have been clearing the woodland walk to make it safe for us to go in. We had a good look around today so that we could make some suggestions.
The lost sheep
This week we heard the story Jesus told about the lost sheep. The children hid their sheep pictures around Nursery and I was like the shepherd looking everywhere. I kept looking until they were all found.
World book day
On World book day our friends from Y3 came to take us on a book character trail. They were surprised at how many books we recognised.
At the zoo
We have been making our own small worlds during continuous provision. We thought carefully about which animals could share a pen in our zoo.
Clean teeth
In nursery we talk about how to keep our bodies healthy. The children talked about how to keep their teeth clean and showed us what to do. All of the children got a new toothbrush to take home.
God’s promise
We listened to the story of Noah. The children were very interested in the part about the rainbow. We used a handy table to make our loose parts rainbow. The children all talked about their favourite colours.
Outdoor safety superheroes
We have looked all around school for things that might not be safe. We are good at spotting dangers.
