Year 4 have had a fantastic World Book Day today! They loved doing a book character quiz around school working with Reception children. They also created some fantastic drawings of Dave the Brave and a knight, as well as footsteps featuring our favourite books. Our ‘World Cup of Picture Books’…

What a great day we have had! We read lots of new books, adapted a traditional tale, played a character game, completed a quiz with Y1 and drew a knight by following ‘Draw with Rob’. Our costumes were fantastic too! 

We had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day. We worked well with y5s on our book quiz, Ring o read and creating our book covers.

Today we celebrated books. We were fabulously dressed as book characters, read lots throughout the day, decorated feet (!) and did a book character quiz. What a great day.

Libby from Food for Life joined us this week to start our new Food Club, which is all about growing and eating food. The children from Year 5 and 6 got stuck in. They planted peas and did some weeding in preparation for planting.

We have been making our own small worlds during continuous provision. We thought carefully about which animals could share a pen in our zoo.

In nursery we talk about how to keep our bodies healthy. The children talked about how to keep their teeth clean and showed us what to do. All of the children got a new toothbrush to take home.

We have enjoyed Miss Helen teaching us our animal dances as part of our ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers’ topic. 

As part of our World Book Day Week we invited parents into our classroom to read some books to us.
Thank you to all the parents who came and read to us. The children loved reading lots of books!

This week we have been looking at our 2D shapes, we then used our cutting and sticking skills and made our own shape dinosaurs. Whilst making these we were talking about the shapes we chose to use.
