This morning, we were practising adding two two digit numbers with a fun activity outside. We had to add the numbers and then locate the answer around the playground. There was some great maths work going on!

We had the Teddy Bear Hospital come and visit us today. We learnt all about our feelings, how to be healthy and look after our bodies. We also learnt how to look after our teddies using plasters and bandages.

This afternoon we had four medical students from Lancaster University visiting our class. They told us about different aspects of keeping healthy, such as healthy eating, good sleep habits, exercise, personal hygiene and mental health. Today we remembered all people and animals killed or injured by war. We wanted to put our poppies outside but due to the bad weather we made an arch to walk under instead. 

In English we have been enjoying the traditional story - The Pied Piper of Hamlin. Today we imagined the scene in the town when the rats first arrived! 
 

We have been reading the story of Elmer and thinking about the wonderful things that make us unique and special.

This week we having been exploring different ways to make fireworks. We have also been learning how to stay super safe when around fireworks or a bonfire.

Today, we learned that maps look down at an area from above. We tried to make our own picture of the year 2 classroom using an aerial view. 
 

Today Year 3 and 4 took part in our termly intrasports tournament. We braved the wind (and leaves) and had some exciting, closely fought games of benchball. Everyone joined in with enthusiasm and energy and it was great to see their teamwork and how supportive they were. Well done!
