This afternoon, Year 2 were challenged to make a free standing structure with art straws and nothing else. They had to be resilient and not give up if they fell down. I was very impressed.

Year 6 arrived safely at Lockerbie Manor this afternoon and got straight into some great activities: archery, low ropes, crate stacking and even raft-building. Everyone had a great time - especially those who got soaking wet even before tea time!

We were joined by Stephen (and of course Harold the giraffe!) from Life Education today.  We learnt all about how amazing our brain and our body is. We also learnt about how to be good friends and to support friends when things are hard or we have a fall out...  We had a good time and enjoyed…

Thank you to Steve, who came in today, to speak to us about our bodies and keeping them healthy. We spoke about our body parts, healthy foods and how important sleep is too. Harold the giraffe needed our help with his feelings and we helped him. 

Wow! We thoroughly enjoyed dancing and dressing up as rock stars today. We came back with the important message of ‘Don’t give up!’ And we certainly didn’t. 

This afternoon we talked a lot about having the right mindset in order to tackle the challenges that lay ahead.  We learnt about several famous people who have had to show great resilience in order to succeed and then tested our own patience, perseverance and resilience with a football, basketball…

We have had a wonderful day discovering the different areas of the classroom. We have made some classroom rules for the year and loved catching up with our friends.

Today Year 5 walked to Williamson Park for our end of year trip.  We have been investigating Ordnance Survey maps to find the best route and also work out what we would be able to see from the viewpoint at Williamson Park.  We were very fortunate with the weather because the view today was…

We had great fun today trying out wheelchair basketball in the hall. We played 4v4 mini games. Thanks to Owen, Oliver and Xavier for letting our teacher team win.

This afternoon we welcomed Mr Needham into Year 6 for the first of our sessions on nutrition and healthy eating. We had a general overview of what makes a balanced diet and got to sample some fruit and vegetables that contain a large proportion of water.
