Making (and eating!) sedimentary rocks in science!

We have been learning about how sedimentary rocks are formed. Today with Mrs Dowson in science we made food models to show the different layers found in sedimentary rocks. We really enjoyed tasting our creations at the end!

Making arrays in maths to show multiplication and addition links

We are starting to learn about multiplication in maths and today we made arrays using different classroom objects to show the links between multiplication and repeated addition. It was good fun and we did lots of learning too!

Practising our DT skills in Year 3

We are continuing our DT topic of packaging and today we practised the skills of careful cutting and folding.  We learnt to use scissors to score the card so that we could get a really good fold. We made 3D Christmas houses to help decorate our class Christmas tree!

Practising chopping, grating and spreading in Year 3

We are getting ready to make our own sandwiches. Today we practised the skills of chopping, grating and spreading. We had bags of chopped cucumber, lettuce and grated carrot to take home with us. Tasty!

Year 3 get tasting!

Soon we will be designing and making our own sandwiches so today we prepared by tasting different bread options and a variety of possible fillings. Lots of us tried some foods for the very first time. We didn’t all like everything but well done everyone for giving it a try!
