Hello again everyone! I am sure you will have seen the Prime Minister's announcement at 8pm this evening regarding Lockdown, with schools only to be open to vulnerable children and those of key workers. We look forward to welcoming those children in tomorrow morning, but are sad that we will not be able to accommodate the rest of the pupils. Thank you very much to everyone who has already managed to return the key worker evidence in such a short time, since our request this morning. If you have not been able to return it, you could always bring it with your child/ren tomorrow morning.
I am so sorry that this is another late evening communication- but of course as the Prime Minister has said, we are indeed in unprecedented times! For those of you whose children are unable to physically attend school, be assured that they remain equally important to us. As this announcement came so late in the evening, it will take a day or two to be fully up and running with remote education alongside teaching vulnerable and keyworker children, but our staff will strive to ensure that they offer the best opportunities they can for all our pupils. Each class teacher will be sending you a termly letter, as we always do, but with a particular emphasis on how remote learning will work.
The staggered start and finish will remain the same tomorrow and for the rest of the week, but depending on how the numbers in bubbles pan out we may revert to a single time. I will of course keep you informed of any changes that may happen.
Please do get in touch tomorrow with any queries, and thank you for your forbearance in this most challenging situation. Thank you too for your resilience and good humour as a community in this really tough time for everyone. I am sure that although we are in the midst of a dark time right now, it will get better.
Thank you
Mrs Aylott
