Class of 2018

Today was such a nice day, we decided to have a sunbathe...a maths sunbathe. We have learned about parallel and perpendicular lines this morning so we were using that knowledge whilst sunbathing!

This morning, Year 3 took part in a workshop all about Ancient Egypt. We learnt about the social pyramid, made a timeline of the different ages of Ancient Egypt, learnt about different Pharaohs, handled artefacts and mummified a Pharaoh. It was fantastic and we all really enjoyed…

This morning, we were taking part in a Brazilian music session. It was very fun and very loud!

Today in Science in Year 3 we have been learning about how insects help to pollinate flowers and create seeds and new plants. 
Using paint or cheesy wotsits as pollen we were bees, moving from flower to flower. Our sticky fingers left a trail showing us the movement of the pollen grains.

This afternoon, we were learning about the abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky as part of our ‘pattern and colour’ Art unit. We tried to recreate a piece of his artwork - Squares with Concentric Circles.

This afternoon, Year 3 went for a walk around Dorrington Wood so that we will be able to compare it to the rainforests we are learning about this half term. This afternoon, Year 3 were learning how computer networks work. In groups, we acted out how a network switch sends messages to devices on its network. 
 

This afternoon, Year 3 were finding out what was in soil. We filled a bottle with a soil sample and water and shook it. We then made observations of what we could see. We will check again next week to see if it has changed.

This afternoon, we have been using clay to make more Eva Rothschild sculptures.

This morning, Year 3 and 4 had a dodgeball competition. Everyone played fantastically but Ashton Green won.

 

This afternoon, Year 3 had a dodgeball coach come in to teach us how to play dodgeball. We then had a mini competition.
