Class of 2020

We used lots of different maths equipment to investigate numbers today.  Recognising which are equal groups is vital before we can learn about fractions.

We learnt about the weird and wonderful foods served at Coronations in years gone by and designed our own menu.

We coloured our own crowns and were kings and queens for the day!

We tested our knowledge with a fun Coronation quiz.

Today we learnt all about the upcoming Coronation events.  Here we are designing our own mosaics inspired by the floor of Westminster Abbey.

We were very proud of our finished vehicles.

At last our vehicles are finished.  They took a lot of hard work, resilience and perseverance.

Before designing our own vehicles, we had to learn how an axle works.  We learnt about two different types - axles with fixed wheels and those with moving wheels.  We made both before choosing which to use in our designs.

Today, we started to create our final animations within our groups. We worked hard to use the skills we had learned to create a more seamless and organised animation, with a steady background and small movements between photographing the scenes. Today we spent some time in the playground looking for signs of spring.  We found lots of shoots starting to appear and even saw some flowering plants too.

Year 2 did a fantastic job of sequencing the Easter story, starting with Palm Sunday all the way through to Easter Sunday!
