This afternoon, we were sorting foods in Science. We had to think of different ways we could group the foods we were given. We sorted them by how healthy they were, what food group they are, taste, how much sugar they had.

In Maths, Year 4 have been learning about factor pairs. We have made some colourful factor bugs to help us remember the pairs. These are on our Maths working wall so we can use them to solve more complicated multiplication calculations.

This half term we are learning all about superheroes and real life heroes. We have loved dressing up in our role play area. We have got capes and masks.  

Happy Christmas from Year 3!

Year 6 braved the weather this afternoon to visit Ashton Manor to sing carols to the residents. Both the children and the residents enjoyed themselves, and there was even a surprise visit from Father Christmas who brought us some delicious cookies and drinks as we chatted after our singing.

In art we have been learning about put graffiti art so we used these skills to create our calendars for 2024. We hope you like them!

In DT we have been developing our cutting, folding and fixing skills in order to make packaging for our Christmas biscuits. We also learnt about different colour schemes to develop a style for our ‘brand’ and used these colours to decorate our boxes. 
 

Over the last three weeks, we have been working hard on developing our printing skills, to create our Christmas cards for this year. We used polystyrene blocks to cut out our basic design. We then used special printing ink to evenly coat our blocks before transferring the design onto paper.

Today was the Year 3&4 Christmas party and we had a great time. We played some old favourites like musical statues and pass the parcel.  We also played some new games like Hoops. “You can’t eat Johnny Smartie” was a favourite again!
