Rosie the reading dog’s first visit to school.
The children who have received their purple bands had a treat last Friday. They met Rosie the reading dog, had an ice lolly or sweets and listened to a story about a reading dog.
Reading Buddies with Year 4 and Year 1
We enjoyed listening to the stories that the Year 4’s read to us. We also enjoyed trying to guess the ‘Masked Readers’ from Y4 and Y1 ! They were very well disguised !
World Book Day reading with Year 4 and Year 1
Year 4 really enjoyed meeting up with Year 1 to read to each other for World Book Day. We shared our stories and watch The Masked Readers sent in from each class. What a lovely time we had together!
World Book Day Reading with Y6
On World Book Day, Y6 came to read to us. It was lovely to see them and we really enjoyed listening to their stories. Thanks Year 6!
Garden time 4-3
Today we have been finding natural objects with different characteristics. Some were smooth, some bumpy, some long, some short.
Learning about Gravity
Today, we have started our unit on ‘Forces’. We have been learning about gravity and the link between mass and weight. We measured the mass of each object and then used the Newton meter to measure the amount of force acting on it.
World Book Day in Year 6
What a busy day Year 6 had on World Book Day! We had some great costumes on show including Phileas Fogg, Gandalf, an Oompa Loompa, Thing One and Thing Two and a couple of Harry Potters, to name just a few!

Year 1 World Book Day
We really enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day and all the fun activities we we did. We listened to the famous illustrator Axel Scheffler (Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Zog) who showed us how he illustrated some characters and read us some of his favourite books.

Dead, living or never alive
We decided another category was needed so added a group called ‘Never Alive’.
Living or Dead
In Science, we are learning all about living things. Today we sorted various objects into two categories - living or dead. Most objects were quite easy to classify but some made us really think.
Juice Cafe
We enjoyed a lovely time reading and having juice and biscuits with our Nursery friends to round off our World Book Day celebrations.
