Today we have set up and conducted our own group investigations to find out what happens to a sound as we move away from the sound source. Each person in our group had their own role. 

After hearing the story of Jack and his beanstalk, the children were very keen to plant their own beans. We looked at different coloured beans and compared their sizes. The children are watering the beans and checking them daily.

Today we have been making musical instruments using recycled materials.

This afternoon we welcomed Mr Needham into Year 6 for the first of our sessions on nutrition and healthy eating. We had a general overview of what makes a balanced diet and got to sample some fruit and vegetables that contain a large proportion of water.

Today we have been testing different materials to see which one was the best at blocking sounds from reaching our ears. We set up an experiment, carried it out, recorded our results and wrote a conclusion to answer our enquiry question. 

Our plants have started growing! We are super excited to take them home soon.

We have planted our Sunflower seeds this week. We discussed what plants need. We also labelled the features of a flower and spoke about the jobs they have.
