We have begun researching facts to use in our non-fiction book. We went to the school library to find non-fiction books and found the information section. We have looked at the features and found exciting information. 
We also used the iPads to research about plants. 

This afternoon, we were using the programme Scratch to code an animation about Goldilocks.

In RE we’ve been reading about Joseph. We had a go at creating our own coats of many colours. We had colours, patterns and lots of creative designs. 
 

We have enjoyed making our printing blocks in the style of Orla Kiely.

Following our first SATstests of the week, Year 6 enjoyed another afternoon outside in the sunshine. This time we were solving maths problems to collect clues to work out an anagram - very complicated but great fun too!

This afternoon, we were looking at items from the past and trying to decide which ones helped us to learn facts about Florence Nightingale when she lived so long ago.

Today, Y4 walked to the Ashton Hall in Lancaster to see the new Mayor, Abi Mills, being elected. It was a privilege to be invited and we were asked to sing during the ceremony too. We sang beautifully and were given lots of compliments by the people there. 

Year 6 have enjoyed some active SPAG revision this morning, working in pairs to find and answer questions about grammar and punctuation. After lunch, the sun came out, so we spent the afternoon practising our ‘-shun’ spelling patterns and prefixes in two team activities.

Today we were really pleased to have Jonny and Abi from NISCU join our special outdoor assembly. This week they have been prayer walking between many of the different school in Morecambe and Lancaster, carrying a lantern to represent the light of Jesus.  They enjoyed our fantastic singing of The…

We are learning about capacity and volume in maths. Today we started this new topic with a practical session finding the capacity of lots of different containers. We used coloured water to make it easier to see. We estimated for each different container and our estimates got better as we went…

We went on a springtime hunt. We had to tick all the signs we saw.

We have been looking for things that grow outdoors. We took photos of each other using the iPad.
