Year 4 Wheelchair basketball

Commonwealth Games Y4
Today we went to the University of Cumbria to take part in a Commonwealth Games Event. The children had the opportunity to try a range of different sports such as boccia and archery. Thanks for all the donations for Derian House Children’s Hospice, we raised a fantastic £92.

Turning a nursery rhyme into a play
Over the last few weeks we have been reading and writing plays. We have looked at the story of ‘Robin Hood and the Chocolate Cake’ and turned it into a play script. Today, we have looked at some familiar nursery rhymes and have acted them out in groups.
Year 4 Art

Year 4 PE
Today we were practising our overarm throwing. Everyone tried really hard and were very enthusiastic.

Cedric the skeleton

The Water Cycle in a bag
The window in our classroom is decorated with food bags! We have drawn the water cycle on the bags and are looking at them daily to see the different processes of evaporation, condensation and precipitation happening.
Year4 Mother’s Day cards

Which surface creates more friction?
This week, we have been learning about friction. We used Newton meters to pull a bag across different surfaces to see which created more friction. More force was needed to move the bag across rough surfaces like the astroturf, concrete and carpet.
Year 4 RE
Year 4 have been looking at the concepts of trust and betrayal linked to the Easter story. As an introduction to this topic we played some trust games in the playground.
